2018 Radio/Screen Not Working! Got in my truck a couple weeks ago to head to work and my radio wouldn't come on, just a black screen with no response whatsoever. Hello, my apologies for your wait. The display does not have any illumination bulbs and is non serviceable by consumers. This is a common issue with these radios. Ford can send them off for repair or you can find used unit via salvage yard or ebay. To avoid this problem occurring again my suggestion would be to go with an aftermarket radio. Sync Entertainment would not boot up. No radio or bluetooth, black screen. Manual heat/air controls function. Step 4: The screen is held in by the 4 screws highlighted in green, the stereo by the 2 in yellow. Remove these and pull outwards: Step 5: Remove the plugs from the screen and CD player, then refit in reverse!:

It seems to be a common problem, and there are company's around that can fix the 'Ford blank radio problem'. It seems like it would simply need to be resolder inside somewhere. Watch video and note it takes you to general area of post code, Close enough but no plans to update sync 2 to accept full postcode. Updated: SOLVED! Solution: The Sync4 reset is to hold the volume rocker in the volumne down position and the right arrow key together for 10 seconds (both on the right side of the steering wheel). This resets the 15.5' touchscreen and in my case solved the issue! The screen came right back on
Ok thanks Mike. I am afraid that this is an internal radio failure and the unit itself will need to be replaced. The one thing you may want to try first is to disconnect the battery negative (earth) cable for about 2 minutes and then reconnect it. .
