I like my Canon SX500. I chose that one because it takes very good close ups. My photographer friend said (for me) getting a DLSR would be a waste of money because I will only use it on Auto. So if anyone tries to tell you DLSR cameras are better (I mean, they are if you're a photographer) look to how you would use it.
